A few weeks ago, my friend called me with a prayer request. His wife had just found out she was pregnant and had already decided she didn't want to keep the baby. We prayed for a change of heart and within days, God had turned the situation around completely! Here is his testimony.
"Well it's a unique story..." he said. "Could be a testimony of God's will and direction."
There are a few aspects of the story to consider before they even got the news that his wife was expecting. For one, she had developed and ovarian cyst in November and had surgery that would potentially limit her chances of getting pregnant on top of being on the DEPO shot. There was also some uncertainty developing in their relationship. They were getting further along in age and he had an injury resulting in a low chance of conceiving another child.
Months prior to the situation, she was adamant about never having anymore kids and wanted abortion if she was to ever get pregnant. Spiritually they were disconnected in their relationship with God as a couple as well as with each other.
A few months later, his wife was sick. Her sickness lead to the discovery of a pregnancy conceived months prior.
Heartache and fear was their initially the reaction, reluctant to accept the reality of what had transpired.
"I reached out to you..." he said, "we talked... we prayed. I prayed... didn't talk to family, just God."
The next day everything changed.
"Her heart opened, my heart opened. Our eyes had a new view -- we saw God's miracle." He told me.
His wife even chose to get closer to God, to go to church. They were filled with joy, peace and confidence in having the child.
Despite any health concerns of the mother, the child is healthy and growing very fast. Their lifestyle has changed, unhealthy habits have ceased. Their relationship is closer than ever and they're focused on a different future.
"Not only are we excited about the child, which is not either of our first," he told me, "We are excited to bring this child into the world together and to bring him into the world with faith in God and under His blessing. Which is something we both didn't focus on with previous kids in past relationships."

When we are in right standing with God, our prayers have power. God can take any situation, no matter how hopeless it may seem, and turn it for good - for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!
